Common problems on this model

"Replace Drum" but prints look fine

Brother counts drum rotations rather than inspecting the drum. If your pages are clean, you can reset the counter and keep going: open the front cover, hold OK until the message clears, close the cover. Replace it once you see repeating marks or grey background.

Vertical streaks down every page

Clean the corona wire before assuming the drum has failed. Slide the green tab on the drum assembly left and right a few times, then return it to the home position. This fixes a meaningful share of apparent drum faults for free.

Toner low warning too early

Brother warns well in advance. You can usually get several hundred more pages after the first warning — and gently rocking the cartridge side to side redistributes the remaining toner.

Won't print over the network after a router change
