Why do photos look washed out?
It's a document printer. Set the paper type correctly and use the highest quality mode; don't expect photo-lab output.
Why is it asking for a new imaging unit?
The CLT-R407 drum is rated at only 6,000 color pages, so heavy color use wears it early. It's replaced from the front like a cartridge.
Can I print black when a color is empty?
Usually for a while; replace the empty color before it reads fully exhausted to avoid a hard stop.
Where are the drivers?
HP hosts Samsung's printer drivers since 2017; Windows 10 and 11 also pick it up with a generic driver.
