How to Replace Ink in the Epson WF-3620

  1. Power on the printer and open the front scanner unit / cartridge cover.
  2. Wait for the cartridge holder to slide to the replacement position, then press the latch on top of the empty cartridge to release it.
  3. Lift the empty cartridge straight out of the holder.
  4. Unbox the new cartridge, gently shake it 4-5 times, remove the yellow protective tape, and insert it firmly into its color-coded slot until it clicks.
  5. Close the scanner unit and wait for the printer to charge the new cartridge (about 2 minutes).

Troubleshooting Tips

"Cannot recognize ink cartridge". Remove and reinstall the cartridge, making sure the yellow tape is removed. If the message persists, power-cycle the printer.

Streaky or missing colors. Run the head cleaning utility from the printer's Maintenance menu — follow with a nozzle check.

Fax setup issues. Confirm an RJ-11 phone line is connected to the LINE port and the fax country/region is set correctly in the printer menu.

Wi-Fi setup issues. The WF-3620 supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, and Ethernet — use the Epson iPrint or Connect app for setup.
